Please, just listen
Sometimes I have trouble knowing which is preferred, 

life or death.

Please, just listen
Only I can make this decision.
I know it is hard for you to understand
I know that everyone wants me to live
but the decision has to be mine.

Please, just listen
In my mind when you say things like
"We care for you." or  "We'll get through this."
it means you've already decided for me
and I feel the urge to fight it.
I know that makes no sense to you
And perhaps one day I"ll see the world as you do -
that there really is no decision,

But for now...

Please just listen,
To help me, include me:
don't say "we", say "together"
To help me, remind me
that right now no decision is necessary
only good choices and options.
